Volunteers Billa and Dane rescue the compost system and soil for the greenhouse. The fruit and vegetable scrap produced at this raw food retreat center is enormous, Big-Time Volume, but our compost was rancid due to poor activation. We weren't doing it right. Billa and Dane set us up with a composting system that is layered with carbon and greens and produces rich hummus. Other permaculture strategies are also discussed, such as no dig planting, and trapping humidity into the greenhouse.
